2009 is coming to a close soon. Lets look at some of the hits and misses of WDW. If anyone has anything I missed (which is likely), just add on!

Hits:

Space Mountain- so many people are complaining, but it is very. very well done.
Tearing down the TL Skyway building- The unused building was cramping up Space Mountain's load area.
Hall of Presidents- I always love AA shows. Obama's AA is very well done, and moves so realistically.
Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure- I haven't done it yet, but bringing kids into the once un-kid-friendly World Showcase is good.
New Innoventions-

new colors-I didn't like the new Blue and Green at first, but it's grown on me. It freshened up the new Innoventions
new attractions- very interactive, very educational, very fun. Just what Epcot needs

Announcing FL expansion- that's just all-around great
Announcing Star Tours 2-that's just all-around great

Misses:

New TTA Spiel- blah. so bland. so dull. I was listening to the DL People Mover audio. It is practically identical in style.
Lights of Winter Removal- they were nice, but nothing replaced them.
Removal of Stitch's Supersonic Celebration-2 weeks?! 2 whole weeks?! Then no replacement? really?!
American Idol Experience- It never did anything for the park.
Automated Narration on Backlot Tour-it's even more dead now

Thanks to dbanderson3 for the idea!

Gotta agree with you with Innoventions. It's really feeling cleaned up and fresh, and much more interative and educational. I'm dying to try out the new Space Mountain. It looks like a great improvement for Tomorrowland.

Comparing the hits to the misses, I think the misses were very minor and 2009 was a phenomenal year for WDW.

yeah, the hits are a lot better. But some of the misses could and should have been avoided

I wish they would extend the Blue and Green on Innoventions, that would really be a hit! Kill the clutter, too. Makie it a sleek and futuristic area again that's the center of EPCOT.

I am so excited for the fantasyland expansion. The area sounds like it is going to be so well themed. I am going to plan my next trip down for the opening! Wish I could be down there more but it is not in the cards at this time. Hopefully things change for me though.

I wish there was more than just one ride, though. Maybe something will happen with PH, as I have been told, but as it stands...Although the aesthetics and depth of FLE will be great, it needs something more than TLM. Hopefully PH and it's rumored "experience" (which would be amazing. The technology they want to use will blow you away.) fixes that.

Now I only have been able to do the American Idol Experience once and I am going to have to say that I loved it! I'm not a fan of the show though. But the reason why I love it so much was the group of people I was sitting by. Plus the whole crowed! Everyone got so into it and the Dad sitting next to me was hysterical! Even if the person singing stunk everyone would act like they did great and cheer them on as much as they possibly could! But really if I was not with the crowd of people I was with, I'm not sure how much I would have liked it.

The is a lot of cross-pollination between WDW and Disneyland as the parks are and will be coming more similar. But because its size, WDW will always be able to offer more attractions but please, please, if there is one thing that I would not want to see anywhere close to DL its the American Idol Experience. Its not even a Disney property for goodness sake. I'm thinking of starting a petition to make Disneyland a Ryan Seacrest-free zone and keep him away from the Christmas Parade filming. We'll gladly take Mickey's PhilharMagic instead.

It is sad thet Disney waited so long to add Idol to Hollywood Studios... I'm not sure that the TV show will be around much longer. It seemed like a great idea, but they waited to long to take advantage of the popularity of AI .. With Simon Cowell's new show the X-Factor coming to USA TV , I'm not sure it will be popular for long... What do others think.. I would love to hear your opinions...

I do not think it is that great of an idea. This will not have the attendance that a attraction at Disney should have. I may be biased because I am not a fan and have not attended a show, but how many people honestly want to go sing in front of a bunch of strangers seriously. I could see a karaoke type of performance for a laugh, but that does not sound like the place for it. I don't think it will last more than a couple years. That space at Hollywood studios has quite a turnover rate.

I have a miss for 2009...They did not close Stitch's Great Escape.

Really, think of the possibilities if they closed both Stitch and Idol. Let the Imagineers go nuts with something new in those prime locations.

I would love to see something original. It seems everything at WDW recently has been based on something else, movie, or TV, or other.
