View Full Version : That seems wrong

I was thinking the other day-
We eat these delicious Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bars, those yummy chocolate-covered ice cream bars shaped like Mickey's head, happily and without a care. That seems wrong. If we love Mickey Mouse, why are we biting of his ears? Why are we eating our best friend? Why are we eating the mascot of our favorite company? (from then on, I got frozen bananas.)
Does this seem wrong to anyone else?

The question is not "Why do we eat it?" The question should be "Why do they make it" - Becase they can charge an extra buck or two than a regular ice cream bar and people won't blink an eye. Same deal with the Mickey pancakes.....
PS I much prefer the frozen bananas (even though they are overprced as well)...

Well that's just Disney, period. They do that with everything. Sunglasses at park- 15$, anywhere else- 5$. It's part of the experience. Who knows, maybe our overpaying is paying for things like FL expansion.
Fortunately, I'm not the one paying. (Thanks Mom! Thanks Dad!)

Yea, me too. The Mickey ears are okay, but...I dunno.

Well, I am paying, and all I'll say is that Mickey is a very crafty mouse. For example, he likes all us unsuspecting northerners to believe that the December weather in Florida is BEAUTIFUL. And, truthfully, for my family and I in 2007 and 2008, it was. However, what Mickey doesn't tell you is that it can, and did in 2009, get darn cold and wet in Orlando ... forcing poor souls to have to dish out mucho dollars on extremely over-priced sweatshirts and umbrellas. Tricky little mouse.

Hey, try living in FL with this capricious weather!
Now, this all seems to go back to one thing, Money. Money doesn't explain why we eat Mickey though.

Trust me, I wish I was living in Florida, weather notwithstanding. I came back on the 28th to be greeted by a good, old lake-effect, Cleveland snowstorm. Nice welcome back, Cleveland.

The same thing happened when I lived in Salt Lake City (and as far as I know continues to this day). Man, could that city get cold in the winter. Now, back to the original question posed by this thread: I, myself, see nothing wrong with eating Mickey-shaped ice cream treats. To me it is just ice cream, and since the park itself makes it I figure they're the ones who have to worry whether it is appropriate or not. But, that's just my opinion (and I have been wrong in the past).

Good point. If the park turns Mickey ears into an item of consumption, then thats what they want you to do. I haven't seen any PETA protests yet over various forms of edible ears.
PS...It doesn't rain very much at all in Southern California but when it does it is absolutely amazing how fast they can whip out Disney Park umbrellas at 10 bucks a pop....
