As many of you probably already know, Walt Disney World guests now have the ability to make advance dining reservations for select table service restaurants online at DisneyWorld.com (http://www.disneyworld.com). After a few days of testing the system and seeing the in-and-outs of it, I think I'm ready to give a review. Let me just say that I was extremely skeptical that this system would work well after having made my ADR's by phone for as long as I could remember, but I must say that I have been extremely impressed thus far. Guests can simply go to the Walt Disney World website and look under the dining section (or go via direct link here (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/restaurants/)) and click a small box under each of the corresponding table service restaurants:

After clicking book a reservation, you are taken to a page where you will enter the date, number of people in your party, and time you would like to eat at the restaurant of choice. After entering all of the proper information and waiting for a few moments, you will get your results, either granting you with your preferred seating time or giving you alternative times for the chosen restaurant or other available eateries. One complaint I do have is that when I had a rejected reservation for a restaurant, I was offered alternatives reservations at restaurants in far away places. Shouldn't the system suggest other restaurants that are near-by??? After selecting whatever reservation is right for you, you can complete your planning or add more restaurant reservations. Once you are done, you will be emailed your reservations for future record.

Again, the system is extremely convenient and will make sure that you're never stuck waiting on the phone to make an ADR. It seems, for once, that the Disney World website is offering a truly unique and convenient service to the public.

As I said in another thread, I have seen this new system in action for a little while now and most recently used it to book our entire trip I think Disney finally hit the nail on the head in thier web division with whoever developed this system. Tom's comment about the suggestions is right sometimes it does suggest things near by other times I think it trys for type of resturant, some of it I have a feeling deals with what is most available at that time. All in all a great new offering though by WDW!

Hi, I haven't tried this yet as our next trip is not until December, I have some questions.

Is it available 24 hrs?
When does the date change for the 90 day window (midnight?)?
Is it still better to call early in the morning for some of those hard to get reservations?

Thanks,
Barb

It is not avalible 24/7 (at least as far as I have been told thus far) I think theys still want to be fair to those folks who don't use the net. One of the things I have heard is that it might start at 6am? But don't hold us to that. The 90 day window opens whenever dining reservations open that day so if the system is up at midnight then yes your 90 day window would open then if the system opened at 6am on the day 90 days before your arrival it would be 6am Hope that helps.

Doesn't surprise me it is a new system. What time if day did you try?
