“May the Merch Be With You!” Another Look at New Star Tours Merchandise
From Merchandise Communications Manager Steven Miller on the Disney Parks Blog: If I had a nickel for the hours I spent as a child playing with my Star Wars toys, I would be living on a beach in Maui right now. Luckily, my parents saved those toys (thanks Mom and Dad), and my son now spends hours pretending he is in a galaxy far, far away. Soon, he will have a few more toys (among several awesome things) to add to his Star Wars collection, especially with the launch of “Star Tours – The Adventures Continue” on May 20. But wait! I get to photograph and write about merchandise created for Star Tours? Sign me up! After reviewing the more than 40 [...]

“Star Tours II/The Adventures Continue/3-D” Debuts a Facebook Fan Page
Disney has started an official Facebook group for Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park. The group promotes what may be another name change for the attraction, now referring to it as “Star Tours 3-D”. Many of you may remember that the attraction was titled “Star Tours II” when it was announced at the 2009 D23 Expo before being changed again in June 2010 to “Star Tours: The Adventures Continue”. Regardless, I’m sure the group will be posting regular updates on the attractions as we inch closer to the grand openings, so it’s probably worth you clicking the “like button” on this one… UPDATE Disney has also announced a special sneak peek event taking [...]

Cast Suits-Up for Star Tours: The Adventures Continue
While this isn’t huge news, the orange suits that have been a staple of Star Tours cast members for many years are history. Instead, Disney has developed some new costumes to better fit “Star Tours: The Adventures Continue”: Blue and gold is most certainly the new colors of the Star Tours company, but not terribly different from the colors used in the last attraction. Here’s a look at what Cast Members will be wearing at the retail location Tatooine Traders: You may also want to take note that the artwork indicates the Starspeeder in the queue is still there, just repainted to be the Starspeeder 1000. As always, stay tuned for more information on Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.
