We have been so swamped with news at WDWNT this week that it has taken us 4 days to get to it, but without any further delay, here are some photos that WDWNT Reporter Brandon Struve took on his latest trip to Epcot: In case you haven’t heard, The International Food & Wine Festival has begun
The Buzz Lightyear toy that took off into outer space in May 2008 to open Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has come back to earth and will be featured in a celebratory “Celebrate a Dream Come True” ticker-tape pre-parade on October 2nd at the Magic Kingdom. At 2:45 PM on 10/2, Buzz will make his way down Main Street U.S.A. along with Buzz Aldrin and astronauts who served on the International Space Station. Buzz Returns from space on 9/11/09(Tony Landis/NASA, photographer) Guests will also have the opportunity to meet Buzz Aldrin and get an autographed book: In addition to appearing in the parade, Buzz Aldrin will host a book signing in Exposition Hall on Main Street, U.S.A from [...]
The Walt Disney World website has just been updated with new dates for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, now running from November 10, 2009, until January 4, 2010. The site originally had the Disney’s Hollywood Studios nighttime holiday event slated to debut at the end of November (as it surprisingly did in 2008), but was recently changed to move the starting date up by about 2 weeks. We have to believe that this change was in response to a large number of complaints made last year by guests who visited in mid-November and were shocked to find out the lights would not run during their vacation.
Just as they did for the arrival of the first Tinker Bell movie last year, Walt Disney World will be holding a special advanced screening event just for annual passholders, this time for the second film in the Tinker Bell “direct-to-DVD/Blu-ray” film series: Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure. Here is the event information: At this exclusive event, Passholders can see Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure a month before it’s released on Disney DVD and Blu-Ray. The tale of Disney’s favorite fairy, Tinker Bell, continues in an all-new magical adventure beyond Pixie Hollow! Take off in a hot air balloon with Tinker Bell and her new friend Blaze on an enchanting secret journey to find a new moonstone, the source [...]
This weekend was a celebration of America at the Walt Disney World Resort, and WDWNT Videographer Matt Paul was there to capture all the festivities for the WDWNTube Disney Parks video site. Below you’ll find video of the new Hall of Presidents at the Magic Kingdom, the “Celebrate America” fireworks show from July 4th, and the special patriotic tag from Illumination: Reflections of Earth:
Walt Disney World has released a video of the swearing in of 1000 new American citizens that took place yesterday at the Magic Kingdom:
According to Mark Goldhaber’s “Mark My Words” blog on MousePlanet.com: Apparently, Disney will be testing a new Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party in the Magic Kingdom starting on Tuesday. The test will run from June 23 through Saturday, August 29, “near” the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station. Our guess is that it probably will be in the Noodle Station’s lower seating area and possibly the middle level, as well. There’s really no other area that can accommodate the 160 people (maximum) that the party will allow aside from the smoking area, which would either tick off the dislocated smokers or the non-smokers forced to put up with the smokers. The party will feature an all-you-can-eat dessert buffet and beverages, and will run [...]
