Magic Kingdom Testing FASTPASS for Parades
You read correctly: FASTPASS service will be tested for the Magic Kingdom’s afternoon parade over the next few weeks. Don’t worry, you won’t need a FASTPASS to see the parade, it really just lets you into a prime viewing area somewhere in the Hub in front of Cinderella Castle. The location will change a few times over the test period as Disney looks to see where it would be best situated. Also changing will be the number of guests per day Disney hands the Fastpasses to, just to see what the right or wrong number of guests to let in might be. The parade FASTPASS will be distributed starting early in the day at the Magic Kingdom by Cast Members [...]
Josh Siegel’s 8/21/11 Magic Kingdom Photo Report
WDWNT Reporter Josh Siegel visited the Magic Kingdom on Sunday and has a number of newsworthy photos to share with us from around the park (including the usual batch of Fantasyland updates): The Frontierland facades are being ripped out and completely replaced
What Time is the 3:00 Parade? 12:00 & 3:30…
In a rather strange turn of events, the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade will be operating a bit off-schedule from July 18th-July 31st. You can catch the parade twice a day at the Magic Kingdom during this period at 12:00PM & 3:30PM. As for the reasoning behind this, we have heard several different things. First, the Magic Kingdom is looking to see the impact this has on wait times for attractions around the park. If it distributes guests in a pleasant way, then we may never see a parade at 3:00PM again. Either twice a day performances or these new times may become the norm for parades. Other rumors persist that this is in preparation for changes connected with [...]

Tom Corless' 1/15-1/18/11 WDW Photo Report
I was visiting Walt Disney World for the premiere of PIXAR Pals: Countdown to Fun and “Let the Memories Begin” last week and managed to find some time to take some newsworthy photos, so let’s take a look at what’s new around the parks: We begin at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Gnomio & Juliet was going to be a Disney movie, now it’s just a Disney promoted movie…
PIXAR Pals: Countdown To Fail?
The PIXAR Pals: Countdown to Fun parade debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Sunday, January 16th. To say that reviews of the “new” parade have been negative would be an understatement. Imagine Block Party Bash at full speed, without guest interaction, without a number of floats, with horrible choreography, and with the toy block floats repainted to look like blocky explosions, cheese, & balloons. Oh, and I almost forgot to loop one of the songs from the PIXAR Play Parade. Can you imagine it? Neither could we, but that’s what is now running at 3:00PM everyday: Rumors are still circulating that Disney is waiting for some Play Parade floats to arrive in Florida for the Spring, and we certainly hope [...]
"There Go The Muppets!" – Volunteer Cavalcade Leaves 10/2/10
An inside source has informed WDWNT that “Disney’s Honorary VoluntEARS Cavalcade” will have its final performance on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010, at the Magic Kingdom. If you are a Muppets fan, this will most likely be your last chance to see Kermit and Miss Piggy in the parks for a while. The pre-parade was created for the 2nd year of the “What Will You Celebrate?” campaign titled “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day”. The promotion kicked off in January as an effort to get 1 million people to volunteer in their communites. It was such an unbelievable success that Disney ran out of the 1 million gifts (including free admission) in the Spring. The pre-parade was designed to showcase [...]
A History of the Main Street Electrical Parade by Chuck Mirarchi
From hotels to restaurants, parks and attractions, parades and special events; everyone has their favorite. Every time they eat at a particular restaurant, stay in the same hotel, ride the same ride or see the same parade – it’s like it’s for the first time. One of those is the Main Street Electrical Parade. At a press conference on February 10th, Walt Disney World Resort President Meg Crofton announced a number of changes and updates for the Florida resort including the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade. The parade is part of Walt Disney World’s summer promotion, Summer Nightastic! and will be replacing SpectroMagic. As of press time, there has been no word on what is happening to SpectroMagic. [...]
