New Fantasyland Model Moves In At “One Man’s Dream” Tomorrow

Since Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream was updated a few months ago, we’ve been wondering why there was so much empty space in “The Legacy Continues” section. Well, here’s why… You may recognize this as the large model of New Fantasyland that was shown at the 2011 D23 Expo. Well, starting tomorrow, it can be seen daily inside the One Man’s Dream attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Having seen the model in person, I can tell you that you will want to stare at it for a while to inspect every last detail. Clear up some time in your schedule for your next trip to the Studios, you’re going to be staring at this for a while…

A New Fantasyland Aerial Update – April 2012

A New Fantasyland Aerial Update – April 2012

Courtesy of Scott Keating and scottkeating.net, we once again have some fantastic aerial photos of Fantasyland to share with you: The former site of Dumbo looks clear and more Castle Walls are rising. Also interesting is that the excess Mermaid rock-work will hide a cast access road. Gaston’s Tavern is still far behind the rest of the buildings in the Village as some are already getting roof shingles The old Fantasyland Skyway site has been flattened, so we should see some vertical construction soon I’d wager that we’ll see waterways and pathways within the next 6 weeks A special bonus: a look at the ongoing Big Thunder Mountain refurbishment. Looks like all the new track is in place and they [...]

New Cast Costumes Send Guests Further into the Fantasy of New Fantasyland

New Cast Costumes Send Guests Further into the Fantasy of New Fantasyland

From the Disney Parks Blog: Some of the first areas of our New Fantasyland expansion at Magic Kingdom Park will be opening by late March, featuring a re-imagined version of The Barnstormer and a relocated Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction. When they debut, cast members working in these areas will be wearing new costumes inspired by the “Big Top” setting of Storybook Circus. The Creative Entertainment Costuming team worked with Walt Disney Imagineering to develop these designs to bring the environment of Storybook Circus to life. The bold colors evoke the spirit of the ringmaster or sideshow barker, while the tails and detailing provide a period look of the 1930s. In this video, you’ll see how the partnership between Walt Disney Imagineering and Creative Entertainment has produced [...]
