I don’t often get to contribute with a photo report, but I took a short two day trip to Walt Disney World stopping at Epcot and the Magic Kingdom so I took some photos. Let’s take a look at a rare Tom Corless photo report: Work continues on the separate entrance to Turtle Talk One of the exhibits in the Turtle Talk pre-show is being fixed up Some work happening between the Refreshment Port and the Canada pavilion in World Showcase On to the Magic Kingdom, work continues on the former Skyway site, expected to soon be home to restrooms, a new pathway, and the Tangled meet and greet The castle walls are coming along nicely This section looks nearly [...]
WDWNT Reporter Jeff Lukas visited the Magic Kingdom on Saturday and has some great newsworthy photos to share with us, so let’s take a look: Welcome We’re still letting the memories begin… Work continues on the Main Street Bakery facade Tangled characters meeting in Town Square until a new home in Fantasyland is ready Pillow pets everywhere! Still funny Something for the ladies That’s… different… The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor is looking great following the refurbishment Everything looks brand new inside The Tangled meet and greet is being turned into the home for Merida from Brave More steel rises for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster What appears to be a large weathervane appeared on the roof of Maurice’s Cottage, Enchanted [...]
Disney has released a stunning video of the interior of the Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasyland. The sound-bites are from Chris Kelly (Show Producer, Walt Disney Imagineering) and Tim Warzecha (Senior Project Manager, Walt Disney Imagineering): This video is released today as Disney formally announced that Be Our Guest Restaurant, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Gaston’s Tavern, Ariel’s Grotto, and Under the sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid will not open until Holiday 2012. The Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station and the second Dumbo spinner will open July.
If you’ve been dying to see what’s happening over those construction walls in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom, you’re going to love this video:
Courtesy of Scott Keating and scottkeating.net, we once again have some fantastic aerial photos of Fantasyland to share with you: The former site of Dumbo looks clear and more Castle Walls are rising. Also interesting is that the excess Mermaid rock-work will hide a cast access road. Gaston’s Tavern is still far behind the rest of the buildings in the Village as some are already getting roof shingles The old Fantasyland Skyway site has been flattened, so we should see some vertical construction soon I’d wager that we’ll see waterways and pathways within the next 6 weeks A special bonus: a look at the ongoing Big Thunder Mountain refurbishment. Looks like all the new track is in place and they [...]
Courtesy of Scott Keating and scottkeating.net, we once again have some fantastic aerial photos of Fantasyland to share with you: The base of the old Dumbo is still lingering, guess it isn’t that easy to completely remove… A lot going on here: The bridge that will serve as the entrance to the Be Our Guest Restaurant is nearing completion, the Mermaid queue entrance is out from behind scaffolding and appears mostly complete with the exception of pavement, and we can now make out a distinguishable footprint for the Seven Dwarves Mine Train Another angle shows that Gaston’s Tavern is far behind the other buildings in the village We can now see where the Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station is going [...]
Well, everyone enjoyed the photos we shared yesterday so much that WDWNT reader Jessica Walker decided to take another pass at Storybook Circus from the Walt Disney World Railroad, and there was plenty more to see: Most of the Fantasyland Station is now visible Plenty of construction going on inside the building though Still a little more work to be done But the workers are excited to near completion! Cool vest! Even cooler vest! Oh Goofy! If you like behind the props in the queue, you can see the red Barnstormer plane vehicle This queue is much improved They were fixing the smoking rocket Some final touches being added We can see the front of the train! From the other [...]
WDWNT Reporter Josh Siegel visited the Magic Kingdom yesterday and has some newsworthy photos to share with us, so let’s take a look: The Bakery is still behind tarps A tarp came down in the bad weather Some lighted effects added to another Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom window A line building for some of the windows A new poster inside the Fire Station A decent amount of guests waiting The Chapeau is still behind tarps Some new, smaller trees planted in Town Square Chamber of commerce (package pick-up) is also still behind tarps A temporary wheelchair ramp installed while work is being done Another look at the new trees everyone seems to hate I don’t see what all of [...]
Courtesy of Scott Keating and scottkeating.net, we once again have some fantastic aerial photos of Fantasyland to share with you: The foundations for the Seven Dwarves Mine Train are now in place, the old Dumbo is now history, and it looks like an extension of the Mermaid rock-work is about to begin to make the show building not visible from Storybook Circus The queue for Enchanted Tales with Belle seems further along than any other project, so it’s possible that may open first Prince Eric’s castle is looking good, but the rest of the facade is far from finished Dumbo and the Fantasyland Station are nearing completion, meanwhile, the Barnstormer is complete with the exception of some landscaping and queue [...]
While taken a few days ago, WDWNT Reporter Robert Ashburn visited the Magic Kingdom on Monday and has some newsworthy photos to share with us: Oops… The Cosmic Ray’s menu boards weren’t working Prince Eric’s Castle is coming along nicely at Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid The path to Storybook Circus Work on the Dumbo queue continues Beast’s Castle The lift hill for The Barnstormer looks great, complete with Goofy’s outline For the first time since work began, the site actually looks pretty clean Some Imagineer and construction workers under a tent near “Dumbo Ditch” Paint going on the silver portion of the Dumbo tent Too far away to see what they are up to… If you [...]
