The interior of the restaurant is being remodeled with a design by the Puccini Group in San Francisco and will feature a wall of wines at the entrance and spectacular views from every table. Here are some renderings: Chef Brian Piasecki recently previewed some of the new menu options. The pork and polenta dish will become “Pork Two Ways” with wood-fired tenderloin with goat cheese polenta, and braised lacquered pork belly with country applesauce. Health and Wellness Rooms Nixed for Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Health and Wellness Rooms Nixed for Disney’s Contemporary Resort

From Jason Garcia at the Orlando Sentinel: Walt Disney World has dropped plans to convert a floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort into “health and wellness” suites that would have included amenities such as in-room exercise equipment and massage tables, a project company officials once hoped to use to tap into a growing market for healthy-lifestyle travel. The suites, which Disney announced in April, were initially supposed to open last month. A Disney spokesman said the resort still plans to renovate the 14th floor of the 40-year-old Contemporary, one of Disney World’s original hotels. But the improvements will be “in line” with conventional “high-end suite standards” at Disney’s other deluxe-priced hotels. The renovations are now scheduled to begin in early 2013 to [...]

"A Contemporary Classic" by Chuck Mirarchi

When one uses the words landmark and iconic, they typically refer to objects and places that are instantly recognizable by virtually everyone, anywhere on the planet.  These words can easily be applied to things like the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and the Taj Mahal. Another Walt Disney World landmark that falls into that group is the Contemporary Resort Hotel. The Contemporary Resort Hotel and the Polynesian Village [...]
