The Concourse Steakhouse on the Grand Canyon Concourse of Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be closed Permanently on May 11th, 2008. It is unclear at this time if the new restaurant called ‘The Wave” will be open by then. We will keep you up to date on this as more becomes available.
The following is from the Orlando Sentinel, take a short read through of this interesting bit on the new dining location coming to the Contemporary Resort: ” While Walt Disney World continues rehab work on the 36-year-old Contemporary Resort, the company has also submitted paperwork to construct a new restaurant inside the hotel. A Disney spokesman said the theme will be trendy, and The Wave will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, and will feature a bar. It should open by next spring or summer.”
The new shop on the Grand Canyon Concourse of the Contemporary Resort is almost completed. The only work left is really the construction of shelve structures and registers for the store. The main reason for the deal is to raise clothing merchandise sales at Disney Parks.

The restaurant, slated to open next fall in Downtown Disney’s Marketplace section, will be the second in a new chain designed by Steven Schussler, who created Rainforest Cafe, and developed in partnership with Landry’s Restaurants. The 30,000-square-foot project, much larger than the Kansas City prototype, will include a cocktail bar, a 3,500-square-foot retail shop and enough educational and entertaining decor to qualify as an attraction, Schussler said. “We’ve got over 35 different [...]

The T-Rex Restaurant at Downtown Disney is opening Summer 2008, according to the construction walls surrounding the site. Even if the restaurant opens by the end of the summer, that only gives them 10 months to complete the new restaurant. This would probably make the people involved in the construction of the new Yak and Yeti restaurant at Animal Kingdom look bad, as they are once again struggling to meet their second opening date.
