Disney released a video to cast members showing the current state of New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. You must watch this…

The video gives a first-time inside look at Enchanted Tales with Belle, Gaston’s Tavern, the Be Our Guest Restaurant, and Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid. There’ even a look at some castle wall and Seven Dwarfs’ Mine Train construction. Let’s closely examine some screenshots:

Amazing! Thank you for sharing this!!! Can’t wait to go in February and see all this! It was just a bunch of walls this last February!

Can we talk about how cool this is all going to be and how bummed I am that this isn’t happening in October like originally thought? THIS IS ALL SO FANTASTIC!!!!

  • Newdeal99

Guess we will be picking up annual passes on our october trip

Everything looks really fun and well done–except the Lumiere character.  All in all, I expect this to be a home run for Disney.

    you mean “especially Lumiere” right?

Got to get two day overnight at the Art of Animation Resort when the Little Mermaid section opens, then take a trip to Magic Kingdom and catch the new openings. What I see looks top notch quality as only Disney does. But considering what Universal is doing up I-4, Disney Suits need to get another “E” ticket attraction into the Magic Kingdom.

As I have said and will say again, a Soar’in type Peter Pan Ride would fit the bill. Work and new attractions need to be added to all of the parks. Got to keep the people coming.

Well, the decision they made was to not build a single E-Ticket ride, but rather a giant overhaul of a dilapidated, forgotten corner of the park. I personally think this was the right call for what is already the most visited park in the world.

I have to agree. With the exception of some fine tuning to make the projection look better, he is a fantastic figure!

AAaaaarrrgghhhhhh. . . Soft opening beginning the week AFTER my visit for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon!!!!! So close. . . yet no cigar!!

I can’t wait! I’ll be there in Jan for the marathon weekend and I really want to go to Be our Guest Restaurant!

  • Brian Dancer

I just think the fake looking face projection looks tacky.  I mean, Lumiere did not have a round shape in his face in the film, it just blended in with the candle shape.  Of course, Tom’s point that they are fine tuning it leaves me with some hope! =)

I have to agree. That AA looks really good.

The area the rebuilt was the old 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  The  dilapidated area you probably refer to is Mickey’s Toontoon Fair, Eisner’s ‘temporary land.”  What they have done, from what I have seen, is extremely well done.  It is beautiful eye-candy.  It is a wonderful addition to the park.  That being said, once again, TOO MANY meet and greets.  It is much better than the original concept with the coming Miner’s Train.  I realize that young children love the meet and greets, but what about Teens.  This audience wants to get in the car and go north a couple of miles to Universal.  An ‘E” ticket ride could be another phase, but it is needed SOON.  Transformers is already open in Universal.  Potter is expanding.  Disney has serious competition in Central Florida.  I have no doubt as to Disney’s ability to compete, but they must understand the tourist dollar will not be totally theirs if they don’t compete for all age groups.  What happens when the children grow into teens and they go on vacation with their not too old parents???

Transformers is only open in the Hollywood Universal. They are building it now but it hasn’t even been officially announced. Although Dec 2013 is a likely time to curtail the Mine Train opening.

The video was great but the music sounded like it was skipping throughout.  It would have been better with no music or a track that didn’t sound so disjointed.

Beauty and the Beast is my “FAVORITE” Disney Tale, can’t wait to go and enjoy the excitement soon.
